HOT HATHA I-II
Description: Draw from the various lineages of Hatha yoga, with a strong influence from the teachings of Anusara Yoga. These classes emphasize alignment and weave postures with poetic reflections and teachings. Hatha classes cultivate strength, balance, flexibility, and attuned awareness. You can expect your teacher’s individual voice to shine through, as each teacher will approach their class from their respective lineage of study.

Description: This gentle yoga class provides a safe, effective, compassionate, non-competitive environment that is welcoming to all. Gentle yoga classes are appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported, and relaxing practice.
THURSDAYS @ 1:30 – 2:30 PM
Description: An exploration of yoga in a playful and supportive setting: Like a challenging Hatha I class that is suitable for new students and veterans alike. Experience new depths of practice and presence while cultivating strength and flexibility.
FRIDAYS @ 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Description: A gentle and nurturing practice that uses props, such as bolsters and blankets, to support the body in deep relaxation. Postures are held for longer periods of time in order to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and to encourage the body and mind to experience peaceful surrender. This is a wonderful class for anyone who would like to slow down, calm the mind, connect to their breath and deepen their yoga practice. Restore the body and spirit, and leave feeling nourished and well-rested. A bolster can provide various supports to your spine, same as a firm pillow, or a rolled-up thick towel (think sushi roll!)

REST & RESTORE WITH RESTORATIVE YOGA

When we give to others, take little time for ourselves, run around, and are busy all day long (even with chores or hobbies), we may find ourselves depleted. We may struggle to fall asleep; if we do, it may not be relaxing or nourishing. A constant hum of exhaustion can permeate our daily life. This reduces the quality and vibrancy of our life.
This 6-week series uses props such as chairs, bolsters, blankets, straps, and blocks to help the body and mind soften more into relaxation and stillness. With consistent practice, the more the body and mind will slip into the familiarity of ease and relaxation. The poses (propped up and usually lying down or seated) are held between 5 – 20 minutes. This helps us release stress (and even underlying years of stress), move into the parasympathetic nervous system, and allows new energy to invigorate us.
This practice is a beautiful way to soften the edges we find in ourselves and life, cultivate more peace, and allow creativity to flow. Leave feeling well-rested, nourished, and restored.
Props: We have props available (bring 1-2 towels to cover the props if you are concerned). If you wish to bring your own props, please bring your yoga mat, 1-2 bolsters, 2-4 blankets, 2 blocks, and 1 strap.
Feel free to bring your favourite blankie, pillows, or anything sentimental that feels comforting.
Investment: $130 for 6 sessions or drop-in for $28 per class.
